Adirondack Park Institute Annual Awards Gala

Adirondack Park Institute Annual Awards Gala

The Adirondack Park Institute will celebrate leadership, service, and a deep commitment to the Adirondack Park at its 2026 Annual Awards Gala. This year, API is proud to present the Frank M. Hutchins Adirondack Environmental Education Leadership Award to John Sheehan of the Adirondack Council. The Hutchins Award is API’s signature honor and recognizes exceptional leadership in environmental education, stewardship, conservation, interpretation, public service, philanthropy, and community impact.

API will also present its Community Service Award to Joan Burke, Director of the Newcomb Historical Museum. This award recognizes individuals whose work has made a meaningful and positive impact on Adirondack communities.

The Youth Community Service Award will be presented to Ellen Lansing, a Columbia University student and Lake Placid High School graduate. This award recognizes a young person whose service, leadership, and commitment reflect a strong connection to the Adirondacks and a desire to make a positive difference.

The evening will include a happy hour, silent auction, dinner, and awards recognition in the historic and welcoming setting of The Adirondack Hotel. Community members, supporters, friends of API, and all who care about the Adirondack Park are welcome to attend. Advance ticket purchase or reservation is required.

The API Gala raises funds to support educational programs, outreach, and experiences that help fulfill API’s mission of teaching generations to care for the Adirondack Park.

Those interested in attending, sponsoring, donating to the silent auction, or learning more about the 2026 API Annual Awards Gala may contact Trisha Hosley at Director@adkinstitute.org or visit www.adkinstitute.org.
