Corrugated Cup Cardboard Boat Race

Play ADK and Adirondack Lakes and Trails Outfitters (ALTO) will host the 2026 Corrugated Cup Cardboard Boat Race on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Riverfront Park in Saranac Lake. This family-friendly fundraiser promises a day of creative fun and friendly competition.

Participants can register and build a boat with supplies provided at the park starting at 10 a.m. For those who pre-build their boat, check-in is required before 2 p.m. with races starting promptly after all boats are checked in. Contestants will paddle a short, marked loop on Lake Flower and an awards ceremony will be held following the races. Trophies include first place in every category as well as Most Spectacular Sink, Best Team Costume, Most Sailors Afloat and more.

The cost to race is $25 per racer with all proceeds supporting Play ADK’s Clubhouse and community programming. Register, view the race rules and get building tips at playadk.org/cardboard.
